INTERSTATE WORK
INTERSTATE 81:
· Exit 230, Great Bend Township: Tuesday (9/7) to Friday (9/10). Bridge Repairs: Working Under the Bridges
Exit 201 (East Benton: Northbound bridge deck patching Thursday (9/9). Right lane closed 8am to 2pm.
Exit 199 (Scott): Northbound bridge deck patching Wednesday (9/8). Left lane closed 8am to 2pm.
Exits 191A-197, NB & SB between the Route 6 Exit 191A and Waverly Exit 197. Paving scheduled in the same area Monday (9/20) through Thursday (9/23) 7am to 7pm. Schedule: 9/20 Right lane NB; 9/21 Left lane NB; 9/22 Right lane SB; 9/23 Left lane SB. Alternating lane restrictions.
Exits 190-194: Subsurface Boring, Sampling and Testing. Right lane closures at various locations between Exit 190 (Dickson City/Main Ave) and Exit 194 (Clarks Summit). Most of the work is NB with the exception of one or two days SB. Work is overnight 9pm-6am beginning on Sunday night through Friday morning. SCHEDULE:
NB right lane closed between mile markers 191 and 192 overnight, Tuesday (9/7) night through Friday morning (9/17).
SB right lane closed between mile markers 190.7 and 190.4 Monday (9/20) night into Tuesday (9/21) morning and Tuesday night into Wednesday (9/22) morning.
NB right lane closed between mile markers 190.4 and 190.7 Wednesday (9/22) night into Thursday (9/23) morning and Thursday night into Friday (9/24) morning.
Exit 184/ Route 3102: Normal NB traffic pattern. SOUTHBOUND traffic pattern change in place approximately til mid-September. Drivers are urged to be very cautious and reduce speed as this pattern leads into the Cemetery Bridges work zone. PROJECT DESCRIPTION: Bridge repairs on River St. (Exit 184) over I-81 affect both roadways. River Street is one lane in each direction. Anticipated completion October 2010.
Exits 182-184: DRIVERS ALERT: Crews will prepare for a traffic pattern change Tuesday (9/7) by restricting a SOUTHBOUND lane overnight from 7:30 p.m. to 6am. NORTHBOUND Traffic will be switched to the temporary bridge Wednesday night (9/8) into Thursday morning (9/9) 8pm to 6am. Expect a single lane NORTHBOUND Wednesday night. PROJECT DESCRIPTION: NB & SB bridge project at Cemetery Bridges between Exit 182 Davis St and 184 River St/Moosic St. Shoulder closure with barrier for construction vehicles entering, leaving roadway.
· Exit 180 (Moosic): SOUTHBOUND Long-term ramp restriction from interstate to Route 11. One 12-foot lane for overhead bridge repairs.
· Exits 170 -175: NB & SB lanes in use. Median restoration and removal of temporary bridge underway. Pavement markings and finishing remain between Exit 170B Wilkes-Barre and Exit 175 Dupont/Pittston thru October.
· Exit 170: NB Coring of bridge abutments carrying Route 115 over I-81 at Exit 170 (Bear Creek). Work is overnight 8pm Tuesday (9/7) to 6am Wednesday (9/8). Travel lane and shoulder restricted.
· Exits 155-145. Crews have opened the lanes between Exits 155 (Dorrance) and 151; and between 147.5 and 145 West Hazleton. The area over the I-80 Bridge between mile markers 151 and 147.5 WILL REMAIN SINGLE LANE BECAUSE OF WORK ON THE BRIDGE DECK. The 2-lane pattern will return to a single lane Tue (9/7). DRIVERS ALERT: Traffic will be disrupted during this time as removal takes place. AVOID AREA. USE GREEN DETOUR, ENTER AT EXIT 151B, TO 80 WB, TO EXIT 256, LEFT ON SR 93 SB, REENTER 81 AT EXIT 145. BACKLOG FORMING NOW. PROJECT DESCRIPTION: Southbound bridge and roadway rehabilitation underway between mile markers 154-144.1 / Exits 155 (Dorrance) and 145 (W. Hazleton). Work is north of the I-80/81 interchange, and continues to Hazleton. While motorists can expect single lanes and delays, they should not experience the same backlogs as last summer. Message boards are placed prior to each exit, informing motorists of the traffic conditions ahead. They are at Exit 168 (Highland Park Blvd/Wilkes-Barre), Exit 165 Mountain Top/Ashley; Exit 164 (Nanticoke/Rte 29) Exit 159 (Nuangola) and at Exit 155 (Dorrance). This will give motorists enough time to decide whether or not to take an alternate route, if necessary. Work includes concrete pavement repairs, joint repairs, paving and rehabilitation of 10 structures; of this, 5 are remaining to be done this year. The deck of the bridge over I-80 will be demolished one lane at a time. Contractor is Pennsy Supply $6,973,547.18. Anticipated completion is December 2010. Includes bridges over:
· I-80, at mile 260, the Stroudsburg/Bloomsburg exit. 8-MILE DETOUR because of ramp closure from I-80 Westbound to I-81 Southbound. Traffic traveling from I-80 WESTBOUND to I-81 SOUTHBOUND will be detoured on I-80 to Exit 256 Conyngham/Nescopeck. Detour signs are in place. This is necessary for a bridge deck replacement at the I-80/I-81 interchange. Temporary daily lane closures on Interstate 80 westbound right lane from MM 259 to MM 261 for overhead work on the I-81 bridge 7:30 AM to 4:00 PM daily. Lane restrictions will alternate on I-80 and will reopen daily.
· T-427, St. John’s Rd. at mile 149.4 between Stroudsburg/Bloomsburg and West Hazleton
· Nescopeck Creek. at mile 149 between Stroudsburg/Bloomsburg and West Hazleton
· County road at mile 147.4 between Stroudsburg/Bloomsburg and West Hazleton.
· Black Creek. at mile 144.4 between West Hazleton and Hazleton at Norfolk & Southern Railroad
Interstate 84
Exit 26-20 WB (Tafton/Promised Land State Park) Pike Co: Single lane work on 5 bridges. Currently under repair are two bridges over Route 390, Exit 26 (Tafton/Promised Land State Park). TRAFFIC SWITCHED TO LANE NEAR THE EXIT 26 ramps. Alternating lane closures. Anticipated completion November.
Exits 53-46: WB Patching, sign repairs. Alternating lane closures Tuesday-Thursday 8am to 3pm between Exit 53 (Matamoras) and Exit 46 (Milford).

CONSTRUCTION PROJECTS: Lane restrictions, delays, detours
Business Route 6/6006 at Plank Rd., Mayfield Borough: Realignment of Plank Road to provide a “T” intersection with U.S. 6. Plank Rd. closed. DETOUR for Route 6006: Chestnut St to Lackawanna Ave. to Meredith St. Anticipated November 2010 completion. DRIVERS ALERT: Center turn lane removed; one lane in each direction.
Route 11 Bridge over I-81 Moosic off-ramp: Rehabilitation, deck replacement. Single lane in each direction. Expected completion June 2011.
Route 107 sewer work in Scott Twp. Daytime single lane with minor traffic delays Monday through Friday through October 2010. Impacted are Rte 207, Scott Twp. and parts of Rtes 247, 347, 438, 1006, 1017, 1027, 1029 and 4028.
Route 307 (Moosic St): ADA ramp construction from Meadow Ave to Front St. Other SRs included in this project. Expected completion Fall 2011. Be alert for pedestrian restrictions and construction vehicles and crews.
Route 347 (Freytown Rd): The bridge over the east branch of Roaring Brook, Covington Twp. is closed for replacement. DETOUR: Route 2009 (Jubilee Rd) to Route 346 (Lehigh Road) to Freytown Rd (Route 308 – Two different township roads, running in different N/S & E/W directions, sharing the same name.)
Route 348, between MOBILE WAY PL., ROARING BROOK Twp and Sandra Dr., SINGLE LANE FOR LONG-TERM SEWER PROJECT. Work is til 5:30 pm
Route 407, Abington Twp. SB Widening project in Abington Twp, moves to Glenburn, So. Abington Twp, Clarks Summit Borough. Lane closures and delays.
Route 502 bridge over Spring Brook. Rehabilitation, deck replacement. Temporary signal directing a single lane of traffic through November 2010 near Lane's Crane, just EAST OF 81 NB ON RAMP AT EXIT 180. No width restrictions.
Route 1027 (Layton Rd.) over Leggetts Creek, South Abington Twp. PROJECT DESCIPTION: Bridge replacement. Temporary signal will accommodate traffic 4 lanes (2 each direction) on Route 6 and 2 lanes on Route 1027 (1 each direction). Daytime single lane pattern on NB 6/11 only until 3 pm weekdays and only when needed. (not every day). Completion late spring 2011. Detour: Rte 6\11 down the Notch to Bus 6 west past the Viewmont Mall to 347 north.
Route 1029, Justus: Bridge rehabilitation. Completion November 2010.
Route 3010: Gas main installation at Route 3013 (Main Avenue,) Taylor. Pavement restoration for gas line project affects Routes 3011, 3010, 3013 and 3016. 12-mile project from the landfill to the Co-Gen Plant in Archbald.
Route 3013 (N. Main St.) Taylor Borough: Driveway installation for new Walmart underway, weather permitting. Restrictions.
Route 3013 (N. Main St.) Taylor Borough: Construction of temporary road associated with the Taylor Bridge project. Road between SR 3013 and 3012.
Route 3102/Exit 184: Bridge repairs on River St. (Exit 184) over I-81 affects traffic on both roadways. Two lanes of traffic open in both directions at all times. Traffic on River St over I-81 is one lane in each direction. Completion late summer 2010. Deck replacement, pier encapsulation repairs and painting.
Route 4017 (Gravel Pond Rd):Construction of temporary road on Route 307 for Winola Road Bridge replacement over Falls Creek, Newton Twp.
Route 6011 Harrison Ave. at Gibson St. New multi-way stop sign and stop bars with temporary red flashers which appear above the new stop signs through September. Temporary Stop Ahead signs with yellow flashers on Harrison Ave. on both approaches to East Gibson St through September while motorists become accustomed to the new traffic controls.
Route 6011 Greenridge St. Reconstruction from Blakeley St, Dunmore, to Main Ave., Scranton. Saw-cutting, excavation & placement of concrete ADA Ramps at all corners along Greenridge. Milling, paving and line painting. Completion November.
RESTRICTIONS & CLOSURES: Detours, weight restrictions
Route 524 bridge over Kennedy Creek east of Route 4007, N. Abington Twp. Single lane with stop sign.
Route 3009, bridge over St. John’s Creek, Old Forge, east of Route 3011, has a weight limit of 13 tons, except combinations 21 tons.
Route 3013 (Main Avenue) Bridge, Taylor. Posted 10-ton weight limit. Detour on Union St. from the Stauffer Industrial Park to Route 3011 (Keyser Ave.) to Route 3010 (Union St.). Utility installation.
Route 4012, Glenburn Twp: Single lane traffic controlled by a stop sign on bridge over D & H Railroad.
Route 6011 Harrison Ave. Bridge, Scranton: Restricted to a 15 ton/25-ton combination weight limit.

LUZERNE COUNTY:

CONSTRUCTION PROJECTS: Lane restrictions, delays
George Ave., Wilkes-Barre: Improvement project underway. Curb and sidewalk work on Washington St with some minor delays. Work is 7am to 3pm.
Downtown Wilkes-Barre lighting, sidewalk improvements, parking re-design and crosswalks at Public Square from West Market to South Main. Work is 4am to 2pm Monday – Friday in order to minimize the impact to traffic, pedestrians and businesses. The project will be completed November.
Route 11, Shickshinny: Water line installation between Butler St & Oak St. 6:30am to 7pm through Dec.
Route 11, Bridge over Harvey’s Creek, Plymouth Twp. The traffic signal at Rte 11 adjacent to Route 29 intersection, West Nanticoke, Luzerne County, controls traffic to a single lane. Completion is late April 2011.
Route 29 bridge over the railroad and Nanticoke Creek/Dundee Rd.: Single lane restriction both directions. Anticipated completion early November 2010.
Route 29 John S. Fine Bridge. Single lane in each direction for bridge repair project SB between Exit 3 (Nanticoke/Wilkes-Barre, Hanover Twp) and Exit 2 Wilkes-Barre. NEW TEMPORARY RAMPS in place. Completion October 2012.
Route 93 Broad St. NB Water line installation by utility underway in Hazleton from Anderson Ct. to Susquehanna Ave. through Sept. 30.ALERT: Route 93 may be one lane with flagging. Work is Monday - Friday, 6 am to 6 pm weather permitting.
Route 115 bridge over an outlet of Bear Creek: Finishing work underway. Temporary daylight traffic patterns will be used to complete minor site work including the installation of the aluminum pedestrian handrail at the sidewalk on the bridge. All work is weather permitting. Completion September.
Route 115, Bridge over the Lehigh at Monroe Co. line: Replacement. Traffic on new half of bridge with temporary signal. Delays. Anticipate completion December. Final paving could be completed in Spring 2011, pending weather delays.
Route 309: Installation of ADA ramps underway from Diamond Ave to Buttonwood St. Work is Monday - Friday 7 AM to 4 PM, through mid-September.
Route 315, Pittston: Driveway installation for new Super Walmart by the Petro Rest Stop underway. Restrictions. Work is 7am to 5pm. Completion October.
Route 924: West Hazleton widening. New traffic pattern between Commerce Dr and Scotch Pine Dr. EB & WB Traffic directed to new section. Congestion and delays. No access from Maplewood Dr to Route 924. Car traffic allowed access from Route 924 into Maplewood thru October 2010. Detour directs traffic to Forest Rd to Scotch Pine Dr (Rte. 924 WB) or Commerce Dr (I-81 and Rte 924 EB) for access to Route 924. Work should be completed by October. Paving follows. Anticipated completion is Jan./Feb. 2011. TRUCKERS ALERT: No right turn allowed at Maplewood Dr. Redirect to Commerce Dr., ½ mile up the road for right turns. Congestion, delays during peak hours 7am to 9:30am and 2:30pm to 4:30pm.
Route 1002 (Courtdale Ave.). Lane closures 7am to 4pm for ADA ramp work from Main St., Luzerne Borough to Wilson St, Larksville. Project will take place in Luzerne, Courtdale and Larksville.
Route 1021 (8 th Street Bridge) Construction of the new bridge. Weight limit 32 tons for single and 40 tons for combination vehicles. Recommended alternate route: Rte 2004 River St, SB to Rte 309 Cross Valley, NB from Exit 3 to Exit 4 to Rte 1006 Rutter Ave to Rte 1005 River St. to Rte 11 Wyoming Ave North. November traffic will likely run on the new bridge. Completion Spring 2011.
Route 2004, Main St.: Curbing, sidewalk and signal work still to remain.
Periodic parking restrictions and lane closures. Work is 7am to 5pm.
Route 2004, River Road, Wilkes-Barre and Plains Twp.: new traffic pattern with one 10’ wide NB lane and one 10’ wide SB lane until the middle of September 2010.
PROJECT DESCRIPTION: Bridge replacement and rehabilitation project underway in the area from General Hospital to the North Cross Valley Expressway. Back-ups during rush hours on both River St and the Route 309 SB ramp at Exit 3 to River Stwhen travel is single lane. Project includes installation of a temporary bridge and temporary road with traffic controlled by a signal. Every effort will be made to keep traffic moving. Expect pedestrian traffic restriction. Anticipated completion is October 2012. Project is on schedule. All work is subject to change. Schedule:
· Work on the masonry arch daily 6am to 12pm. Flagmen direct traffic on NB & SB lanes. Temporary NB lane closure. Expect delays.
· Construction of the temporary roadway begins in the fall. Spring 2011.
· Work on the railroad bridge in the area of The Waterfront (for the RR that parallels the river) will begin summer 2011.
Route 2027, (McAlpine Street) at Route 11 (Main St) Avoca. CP Railroad crossing work. Work through Thursday (9/9). DETOUR: Rte 2032 Foote Ave to Route 2029 York Ave to Route 11 Main St.
Route 2051, Freeland, Jeddo Borough: Replacement of bridge culvert through the fall. DETOUR Route 2053 to 3022 to 940 to 2051.
Route 4001 (Hartman Road), over a branch of Hunlock Creek in Plymouth Twp.: Bridge rehabilitation. Completion September. DETOUR: Rte 29 (Prichard Rd, T684, T808, & SR 4026), Rte 4003 (Swamp Rd), Rte 4016 (Main Rd).
RESTRICTIONS & CLOSURES: Detours, weight restrictions
Route 1054 (Evans St.) Luzerne/Pringle. Closed for replacement until December 2010. DETOUR: Route 1013 (Union St) to Route 1012 (Courtdale Ave) to Courtright St.
Route 2023 (Broad St), Pittston. Closure 9am-5pm for utility work between Fulton & Foundry Sts., from Main St to the Musto Bypass. DETOUR: Broad St to Rte 11. Single lane between Wilson and Anderson streets. Anticipated opening Oct. 15.
Route 3014 (Dump Hill Rd): The bridge over Nescopeck Creek, Nescopeck, Southern Luzerne County is weight restricted to 6 tons or 1 truck.
Route 4011, Fairmount Twp., Bridge will close for repairs in September. DETOUR: SR 118 to SR 4013 (Mossville Rd) to SR 4015 (Hill Rd) to SR 4018 (Bonnieville Rd) to SR 4020 (Volanski Rd)
Route 4016: Hunlock Creek Bridge: Temporary signals, restricted to one lane.
Route 4016 (Hunlock/Harveyville Rd) over Marsh Creek, Huntington Twp: Bridge rehabilitation between Bee Tree Rd and Shinny Rd. through late summer. DETOUR: Shickshinny Lake Rd (SR 4006), SR 239, Marsh Creek Rd (SR 4017).
PIKE COUNTY:
MAINTENANCE ACTIVITY: Lane restrictions, delays, weekdays 7am to 3pm
Route 390: Pipe Replacements, Repair inlets and end walls. Tuesday-Friday
Route 1012, Lackawaxen Rd. Shohola: Drain work and rock lining.
Route 4001 Ledgedale Rd., Lackawaxen Township: Concrete deck repairs.
Route 4004 Blooming Grove Rd, Blooming Grove Township: Repair back wall.
CONSTRUCTION: Weekdays 7am to 3pm. Restrictions
Route 6 bridge over the Delaware at Matamoras/Port Jervis: Rehabilitation Two-way traffic. DRIVERS ALERT: Temporary width restrictions: 12 ft lane; over-sized load restriction 11 ft. Drivers Alert: construction vehicles and workers; adhere to 25 mph speed limit. NO left turns onto Delaware Dr; only right turns from Delaware Dr. to Pennsylvania Ave. Current traffic pattern in that area remains the same. Left turns onto Water St not allowed. Anticipated completion this Fall.
Route 434 over Balliard Creek, Greeley, Lackawaxen Twp. Road closed with detour for bridge replacement. Detour: Greeley Lake Rd. (SR 1002), Rowland Rd. (SR1003), Market Rd. (SR 1004) and SR 0590 (3.8 mi).Completion late December.
Route 2001, Bushkill: Single lane controlled by a 3-way stop at deli between Milford Rd. and Rte 209. DRIVERS ALERT: ALL DIRECTIONS MUST STOP FOR THESE SIGNS, INCLUDING ROADS THAT DID NOT HAVE A STOP SIGN PRIOR TO THIS at the intersection of Milford and Bushkill Roads. The speed limit is 25 mph. PROJECT DESCRIPTION: Realignment from U.S. 209 to Milford Rd through November 2010. Milford Rd realignment, box culvert and drainage ongoing through November 2011.
Route 2006, Log Tavern Rd., Dingmans Twp.: Bridge work half-width, with traffic controlled by a signal til November. Motorists are cautioned to adhere to the speed limit and be alert for construction vehicles and crews. Work thru December.
Route 4003: Single lane at the bridge and short section of road. Temporary traffic signal controls traffic. Temporary concrete barrier will be placed within a couple of weeks and physically restrict width to 10 feet. Contract completion is April 2011. Contractor would like to complete the project before the end of this year.

Route 6 Bridge over the Delaware Matamoras/Port Jervis is open to 2 way traffic, temporary width restrictions, and 25 mph speed limit.
Route 1005 Twin Lakes Rd. /Shohola Bridge over the Shohola Creek in Shohola Twp. Closed for replacement. Detour: Rtes 434 & 1006 (Knealing Rd.).Completion October 8.
Route 2006: Bridge over Dwarfkill Creek down-posted to one truck at a time with a weight limit of 24 ton or 35 tons for combinations.

Route 29, Liberty Twp. slide repairs begin from a point north of the intersection with Route 1020 (Lower Rhiney Creek Rd.) to a point between segments 510 to 520. DETOUR: Trucks: Route 167 to 706 to 11 to NY Route 20. Cars: Route 1022 to 1037 to 1033 to NY Route 7A. Work continues through November.
 
         
Route 92, Oakland & Susquehanna Boroughs: Bridge Repairs. Single lane through October.
Route 171 Great Bend Twp.: D & H Railroad Bridge. Single lane traffic controlled by a temporary signal. Bridge should reopen by the end of September.
Route 858, Bridge over North Branch of Wyalusing Creek, Rushville. One-lane traffic with stop signs for culvert replacement. Completion October.
Route 1015 Cascade Creek Bridge, Harmony Twp., Susque Co, 2 miles from NY state line: Superstructure rehabilitation and deck replacement at half-width construction. Single lane controlled by stop sign.
Route 1012 (Lake Rd.) Salt Lick Creek Bridge will close approximately September 20 for superstructure replacement through November 2010. Detour (13 miles): SR 492 to SR 1021. PennDOT is working to minimize the duration of the closure.
Route 1029 Bridge, Randolph Rd.: Daytime work on the temporary runaround bridge with no immediate impact to traffic. Traffic could switch to the single lane temporary bridge sometime this winter or spring. Traffic would then be controlled by stop signs. Anticipated completion is September 2011.

Route 2039, Millard Creek Bridge, Lenox Twp., Susquehanna Co.: Bridge replacement. Finishing work will be completed under daylight restrictions only.

Route 196 bridge over Middle Creek, Varden , South Canaan & Lake Twps. Closed at Route 296 for a superstructure replacement. Anticipated completion November. DETOUR: Route 3014 Tresslarville Rd to Rte 296 to Rte 3029 Tisdel Rd.
Route 590, Salem Twp. One of 3 lanes closed (center lane closed; one lane open in each direction) at the intersection of Mt Cobb for ongoing utility project.
Route 1002, New York/PA bridge over the Delaware River at Skinners Falls, Milanville, is posted but open to traffic. In 2011, repairs to truss members and abutments are planned; more major rehabilitation is projected in 2015 for $8 million. Both projects are currently unfunded.
Route 1031, Damascus Twp., bridge replacement. DETOUR: (18 mi) Route 1031 to Route 371 West to 1025 North to 1014 East to 1031 South. Completion is fall.
Route 3024, Middle Creek Bridge over Middle Creek, Hoadleys/Cherry Ridge Twp closed for replacement. Detour: Rte 3026 to 3037 Cadwalder Rd to 3039 Melody Rd. Anticipated completion Nov. 2010.

CONSTRUCTION:
Route 6 Bardwell Bridge, Tunkhannock. DRIVERS ALERT: Road width restriction of 11 feet starts Thursday (9/9) through Nov 01, 2011. Temporary signals will control traffic on this bridge rehabilitation job. Project includes deck replacement, painting to prevent deterioration, minor bituminous pavement approach work, excavation, concrete pavement & repairs, drainage, guiderail, concrete curbing, impact attenuating devices, landscaping, erosion & sediment control measures and pavement markings. Anticipated completion is November 2011. Project was awarded to Fahs Construction for a bid of $2.4 million.
Route 92 over a tributary of Tunkhannock Creek, north of Nicholson: Parapet replacement. Half-width construction. Temporary signal, one lane until late October.
Route 92 at 307 and Osterhout to Falls Bridge. Resurfacing prep work underway. Alternating lane closures, short stops. Be aware of crews, construction vehicles.

Route 87 south bridge over Mehoopany Creek, Forkston: PROJECT DESCRIPTION: Replacement underway. Periodic stops and restrictions. Temporary bridge with a signal to control single lane traffic. 15’ width restriction. Speed is 25 mph and is patrolled. Anticipated completion May 2011.
Route 1009 bridge over Meshoppen Creek, Lemon: .5 miles south of the county line, is restricted to 19 tons, except combinations, 24 tons and limited to one truck.
Route 1029, Factoryville: Road closed at truss bridge over Tunkhannock Creek. Long term detour. Possible 2013 construction.
Route 2027 Highland Rd: Bridge and part of the road from the intersection of Route 2021 (Lower Mill City Rd.) to Route 307 will close for replacement the week of Monday (9/13). 4.9 mile detour. Tentative completion is November.
Route 3001 (Church St.), Wyndham Twp, Laceyville Boro bridge over the Susquehanna River, near the intersection of Route 6, Laceyville. Beam repair, deck replacement and painting underway with single lane.
Route 3001, Forkston. PennDOT planning to keep bridge to remain open while work is done to replace the abutment. Future repairs can be done without additional closure. Single lane with a 10-ton restriction. Detour for weight-restricted vehicles: Rte 3001 to Sullivan County to Dutch Mountain Rd to Rte 487 north to Lopez in Dushore to Route 87 to Wyoming County (40 miles).

Safety Breaks set for Labor Day Holiday Travelers at Interstate Rest Areas
Holiday travelers will be able to take a coffee break at interstate rest areas over the Labor Day holiday in Northeastern Pennsylvania.
Community groups will serve free coffee through a program coordinated through PennDOT encouraging drivers to stop and take a break for safety’s sake during the busy holiday travel period.
The safety coffee breaks will be conducted at the following rest areas:

· Eastbound, at White Haven, Luzerne County between the Mountain Top/ Hazleton Exit 262 and the White Haven/ Freeland Exit 273. Friday and Saturday, (9/3-6) 7a.m. to 7 p.m.
INTERSTATE 81:
· Northbound at Dorrance, Luzerne County between the Dorrance Exit 155 and the Nuangola Exit 159. Wright Township Fire Police, Friday and Saturday, (9/3-4) 8a.m to 8p.m.; Sunday & Monday (9/5-6) 24 hours starting at 7a.m.
